Lech Aleksander Kaczynski was President of Poland from 23rd December 2005 to 10th April 2010.
He was the twin brother of former Prime Minister of Poland Jaroslaw Kaczynski and current Chairman of the Prawo i Sprawiedliwosc ( Low and Justice Party ).
As a child ,he played in 1962 Polish film, ‘ The Two Who Stole the Moon’ ( Polish title O Dwoch takich co ukradli ksiezyc ) with his twin brother Jaroslaw.
On 10th April 2010 a plane TU 154 which was carrying President Kaczynski, his wife Maria Kaczynska and other members of of a Polish delegation were travelling from Warsaw to Katyn near Smolensk.
The plane crashed while approachin Smolensk Air Base in Russia at 08:56.
