Horses are found all over the world.Horses can be very big but some can be very small.There are many different Breeds of Horses.There can be wild Horses and tame Horses.Horses are used for show jumping and racing and have changed a lot down through the years.For example millions of years ago Horses had four toes and were much smaller but now they have e hoof and are much bigger.Horses are a nice animal and are around for millions of years.I really like horses.

African Elephant

The African elephant is the biggest land animal in the world. It can grow up  4 meters  and weigh over 6 tons. That is the same weight as six cars. A blue whale is 25 times heavier than an elephant. If an elephant stood on a human being it not crush you. The elephant’s tusk helps it pick up food and eat it. Humans kill elephant’s for their tusks because it is made out of ivory but you’re banned. People usually keep boxers as toy dogs.

Elephants are from India and Africa.  Elephants stay in herds. It is hard being an elepant. It has to walk for miles everyday. When they get leaves from a tree they use their trunks. Then the leaves go into their mouth.elephant

The Hyena  is a mammal that is famous for its weird howl which resembles a hysterical human laugh.

The spotted Hyena has massive powerful jaws and strong teeth that can crack even large bones.

THE BAT

Bats are a type of mammal. This means that they have fur hair and have living babies.There are seven types of bats in Ireland.Six of these bats belongs to the “vesper bat”group.These bats have very long ears.The long eared bat daubentons bats the natteres bat leisler’s bat whiskers bat and the pipistrelle-the most common bat found in Ireland.They make squeaky noises to communicate.The bat eats flying insects like moths dragon -flies and mayflies.Sometimes they eat  spiders and beetles.They sleep in the day hanging upside down in dark caves or in attics.They are also found in woodland areas especially near water where they will find plenty of  insects as food.

The great white shark is the largest shark in the world.
A sharks bones ar made of  cartilage.
The average length of a great white is 16-17 meters long.
People think  shark eat you but they are as  afraid of you then you are of them.
The great white will only stay in warm waters.The great white has three layers of teeth.
There are thirty four types of  sharks.

Gorillas can weigh up to about 200kg.
Gorillas can live up to about 53 years in captivity and30 years in the wild.
Poachers have forced rangers to leave there homes or they would kill them.

The Siberian tiger is an endangered species.
They live in eastern Russia.
Tigers live alone and are powerful hunters.

In prides the females do most of the hunting and cub rearing.Usually all the lioness in the pride are related and give birth at the same time.Only male lions have manes.The darker the lions mane the older he is.A male lion marks the territory of his pride by spraying urine on three trunks and bushes chasing other. Lion cubs are born in litters of one to six.Their average weight at birth is 1 to 2 kilograms.Lions are members of the cat family.Prides can be as small as 3 and as big as 40 animals.Lions once roamed in Africa,southern Europe and parts of Asia. Today their primary habitats are in arrica and about 300 live in the Gir forest in India.over200’00lions used to roam the Africam continent as recently as 1975. The latest survey has found that the number has declined to approx 23100 lions.
